Digital Art/Photography

My Digital Abstracts enable me to engage color, texture and shape to create a pixelated form. Hidden in most digital images, I use the pixel to tell the story. Its presence is essential to define the visual field - transition from one color to another, the shape and movement within the image. The pixel informs the viewer and at the same time hides within the image. It is a result of thousands of on/off computer contortions.

In a visual and digital world I am challenged to paint with the computer. Digital art is literally created by “painting with my mouse”.

Nature photography enables me to explore nature’s patterns/patterns in nature. I attempt to capture small details with large presentation; and capture large patterns in nature making the presentation small. Having minored in photography in college, I work to capture the image in the camera so that what I see through the lens is exactly what I print – little if any editing, very little color adjustment. It is my challenge.
